The City of Frankenmuth has radon test kits available at its City Hall, 240 West Genesee Street, through Friday, January 31, while supplies last.
There will be one test kit available per residence for citizens of Frankenmuth City or Township. City Hall is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 5pm. These kits come from the Saginaw County Health Department.
Radon is a tasteless, odorless, colorless radioactive gas found in almost any kind of soil and rock and is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States; the leading cause among non-smokers. Visit www.epa.gov/radon for more information. The month of January is Radon Awareness Month.
