FHS Eagle football golf outing June 4 at Fortress
The fourth annual Eagle Football golf outing is set for Sunday, June 4, at The Fortress Golf Course in Frankenmuth.
The four-person scramble will begin with registration at 8am, with a shotgun start at 9am followed by a ribs and chicken dinner and awards at 2:30pm
The cost is $100 per player, with a maximum of 144 golfers (36 teams). The price includes golf with a cart, prizes and dinner. Contests include a putting challenge on the practice green, two long-drive contests, two closest to the pin challenges and the “Win A Car” hole-in-one shootout.
Last year’s scramble raised just over $5,700 for the program, most of which was used to update player shoulder pads and tackling dummies.
FHS Head Coach Phil Martin said this year’s funds will be earmarked on continued equipment updates, including helmets and shoulder pads, and a new chute and tackle circles.
Martin is also seeking door prize and monetary sponsors.
The Eagle football program has won the last five Tri-Valley Conference East Division titles and were MHSAA Division 5 state semifinalists last year. Since the program began in 1956, the Eagles have compiled a 420-154-4 overall record.
